Senior Pictures for 2010-11
Senior pictures are due by November 1. Because contemporary clothing styles and poses change so quickly, Jostens recommends a traditional senior photo pose for placement in the yearbook. General guidelines for a traditional senior photo include: vertical format; indoor lighting with minimal background; head and shoulder position; no name or date printed on the photo. Most of the local photography studios facilitate this type of pose. Please have the photography studio send a copy directly to the high school upon request. Senior photos should be submitted to Mrs. Van Dusen.

Know Someone Who is Looking for a New School District? All 20 public school districts within Kent ISD participate in the county Schools of Choice program. This program allows people to send their children to school, outside of their resident district, without getting a superintendent's “release” or the receiving superintendent's “permission”. The open enrollment for Schools of Choice closes at the end of the day on Friday, June 4. The only limit on movement between school districts is the space available in the desired district. Sparta has well over 200 students attending via the Schools of Choice program. Sparta has openings at every level, grades K-12. Once a student is enrolled through Schools of Choice, that student can remain in the district for his/her entire school career.
If you know of a family looking for a new school home for their child or one interested in learning about the programs and opportunities available here in Sparta, please encourage them to call any Sparta school building. Application forms are available in every school.
